The Garden Club of Kentucky, Inc, officers hosted “The Southern Monarch”, Kelly Long as she presented an enthusiastic and informative program on the Monarch Butterfly at GCKY Headquarters in Paris July 17th. Kelly is from Greer, South Carolina and is a member of the Camilla Garden Club and serves as the Wildlife Habitat Committee Chairperson for the Garden Clubs of SC. Kelly’s lively and fun presentation was followed with a book signing by award winning author, Jon Carloftis. His new book, “Jon Carloftis Fine Gardens” is delightful and Jon is a wonderful storyteller. Both events were very well attended and Jon personalized his beautiful book after an enjoyable and relaxed conversation in the Wallis parlor. Jon generously donated and personalized a book to remain in the main hallway at the Wallis House for all visitors to enjoy. Members toured the house and the Arboretum, some for the first time. The weather was glorious and Headquarters and the grounds were gorgeous.
